February Week 4

LOVE LANGUAGES; What is your love language?
1. Verbal
 Complements, appreciation; words of affirmation. This is something that is very important in any relationship because it shows your appreciation for the other person. Hearing someone say good things to you about you gives you that extra something that makes you be a better you.
2. Acts
 Acts of service, doing things you know your spouse/significant other would like for you to do i.e…Cooking loading dishwasher…without asking or nagging them about doing it. But, we show them we love them by what we do.
3. Quality time
 Giving your spouse/friend your undivided attention. Talking, going for a walk etc…; letting that person know that right now you are the most important person. Sometimes we forget, that just listening to how their day went at work, how a child passed a test at school, stopping for just a moment to focus on them.
4. Physical touch
 A powerful vehicle for communicating marital love. Holding hands, kissing embracing; When babies are first born they tend to put the baby on the mothers chest, why? Well this child has listened to the mother’s heartbeat for nine months. This child was nourished by this mother; it stands to reason that the touch of this mother against the child will bring calm and peace to the infant. Same for adults we all need that human contact. The touch of a hand, a kiss, a hug. Sends a powerful message of love.
5. Receiving gifts
 Visible symbols of love; this is a tangible way to know that he/she is thinking of you. Some would agree that most/some men are visual beings, and in that they are more visual than most/some women, telling them might not be their love language. Love must be shown through gifts, notes, teddy bears, etc… I’m sure you see where I’m going with this.

So as we have explored the many ways love is given, expressed, and received, keep in mind that love encompasses everything that we are , everything that we do, everything that we say, and how we act; Hmmmm, that sounds like God. He is our all in all, our Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, He is in everything, and everything is in Him. ~Selah~

Give and it shall be given unto you good measure, shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom.
1 John 4:18 For there is no fear in Love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love
1 John 4:19 we love Him, because He first loved us.
John 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
